Having worked within healthcare since 2010 across public, private and charity organisations within senior management and interim consultancy roles I have experience of a wide range of healthcare providers, giving me an in-depth knowledge of the operational models across different sectors and an understanding of the complexities and co-dependencies in delivering high-quality care which meets the needs of those using the services. As such I have a good understanding and over sight of the healthcare system and the current strategic agenda to deliver effective and integrated health and social care through the NHS Long Term Plan and Health Bill.
I have extensive experience of leading and developing quality and governance teams with both budget and staff management responsibilities, having had the delivery of a wide range of quality governance functions in my portfolio including; Risk Management, Incident Management & Reporting (including Serious/Never Event), Patient Experience (including PALs & Complaints), Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response (EPRR), Information Governance, Health & Safety, Clinical Effectiveness, Legal Services (including claims, litigation and coroners). I also have experience of leading at a national level within my roles at Marie Stopes and NHS Blood & Transplant.
I am a highly motivated individual who has the ability to communicate effectively, and act with tact and diplomacy. I am able to develop and implement strategy and system/operational change whilst maintaining initiative and creativity, working in and leading a team. I have excellent organisational, administrational, project management and problem-solving skills, with a sound knowledge of office-based computer systems. I am able to undertake business and financial planning and deliver against these objectives.
Sheila Kasaven qualified as a nurse in 1995 and held many posts up to 2017 within mental health settings including leading the opening of a purpose bult mental health hospital in Lancashire. She took up Clinical Governance posts from 2017 at Manchester Foundation Trust, Bradford Teaching Hospitals and is now the Director of Clinical Governance at Mid Cheshire hospital Trust in Crewe. Sheila is the senior responsible officer for ensuring PSIRF is embedded into the organisation and that Patient Safety is at the heart of the Trust priorities.
Kristina Murphy is the Patient Safety Specialist at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust; she has over 15 years of experience in Governance within the NHS. Previously, she has worked as a Director within the Special Academy Education sector focusing on strategic development and quality improvement.
In her spare time, Kristina is the CEO and founder of a charity supporting children with access to school uniform; Independent member and Vice-Chair of West Midlands Police and Crime Panel; an Independent Mental Health Lay Manager and a Governor at a Special Academy.
Tracy worked as a physiotherapist in acute NHS Trusts for 15 years before moving into roles focusing on regulation, quality and clinical governance. She is currently the Clinical Governance and Compliance Manager, and one of the Patient Safety Specialists at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Tracy is passionate about supporting staff and teams to improve the safety and quality of care and experience patients receive. Embedding the patient safety incident response framework (PSIRF) and a ‘just culture’ are some of her current priorities.
