First-hand speaker experience
Liz is a lead pharmacist based in southwest
Hampshire where she manages a team of clinical pharmacists and pharmacy
technicians providing medicines optimisation services in general medical
practices. She has a special interest in quality improvement work in primary
care and has participated in several national collaboratives to enhance patient
safety and the experience of medicines. Within
the ICB she leads on optimising medicines for cardiovascular disease prevention
(CVDP) in primary care and facilitates educational outreach meetings in CVDP
for general practice. In her role working with the NHS Benchmarking team, Liz
leads on Quality Improvement for the national CVDPREVENT audit, bringing about
data-driven prescribing change to help prevent heart and brain disease in the
community.
Hester is a project manager at the NHS Benchmarking Network, the in-house benchmarking service of the NHS. In particular, she has worked with the team on the CVDPREVENT audit since its early inception, working on the delivery, outputs and dissemination of the audit since 2021. Hester and her team work in partnership with NHS England and the National Cardiovascular Intelligence Network (NCVIN) – Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID), to deliver the audit from data collection through to analysis and reporting. Hester has in-depth knowledge of the audit indicators and the online Data & Improvement Tool.
